Dermal Piercing
A dermal piercing, also known as a microdermal anchor, is a single point piercing that sits flat against the skin. It has just one exit point from the skin, rather than the two exit points of a regular surface piercing.
It’s often placed on areas such as the collarbone, chest, face, or hips and offers a clean, minimal look with a single visible top.
Correct placement and jewellery choice are essential for comfort and longevity with dermal piercings, and at Metal Fatigue you’re in safe, experienced hands!
Avoiding pressure, trauma to the area and allowing it to get air during healing will help support a smooth and comfortable healing experience.
Jewellery can usually be changed after 6 – 8 weeks, but full healing typically takes around 3 months.

Dermal (Pair) Piercing
A dermal piercing (pair) consists of two individual dermal anchors, or microdermals. These are usually placed on the back, as back dermals.
This piercing is also chosen for decorative placement on areas such as the collarbone, chest, or hips and creates a clean, balanced look!
Dermal piercings need specialist techniques to ensure each anchor is securely placed beneath the skin, for comfort and longevity, and you’re in safe, professional hands at Metal Fatigue!
Avoiding pressure and trauma to the area will help support smooth and comfortable healing.
Jewellery can usually be changed after 6 – 8 weeks, but full healing typically takes around 3 months.

Madison Piercing
A Madison piercing is a two point, surface piercing placed horizontally across the skin at the base of the neck, just above the collarbones.
It’s a striking and decorative piercing that sits centrally and works beautifully with flat-ended or surface-style jewellery!
Because the Madison is a surface piercing, correct depth, placement, and jewellery choice are essential to reduce the risk of migration or rejection and you’re in expert hands at Metal Fatigue!
Following aftercare advice closely and avoiding unnecessary pressure or movement in the area will help support smooth and comfortable healing.
Jewellery can usually be changed after 6 – 8 weeks, but full healing typically takes around 3 months.

A nape piercing is a two point, surface piercing placed horizontally across the back of the neck, just below the hairline.
It’s a bold and eye-catching body piercing that’s often chosen for its decorative look!
Because the nape is a surface piercing, correct depth, placement, and jewellery choice are essential to reduce the risk of migration or rejection and you’re in safe, experienced hands at Metal Fatigue!
Avoiding pressure from clothing and hair during healing will help support a smoother, more comfortable healing experience.
Jewellery can usually be changed after 6 – 8 weeks, but full healing typically takes around 3 months.

Surface Piercing
Surface piercings sit on flat areas of the body, such as the collarbone, chest, or hip.
They create a distinctive look and are performed using specialist surface bars designed to reduce pressure on the skin.
They’re a two point piercing, which means they have two exit points on the skin, rather than one like a dermal piercing.
Surface piercings require experience and precision to minimise the risk of migration or rejection and you’re in safe, expert hands at Metal Fatigue!
Jewellery can usually be changed after 6 – 8 weeks, but expect full healing to take around 3 months, depending on placement.
